The Program
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest Regional Campus Internal Medicine Residency Program is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and was established in 2015 as a new fully-accredited community-based program within the Department of Internal Medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine. This internal medicine residency program will train the resident physicians within the community hospital environment and help them develop skills to excel in patient care and leadership roles within the three-year categorical training period.
Please note: We do not sponsor observerships or externships. To participate in clinical activities in this program (e.g., acting internships), it is our policy that a student be currently enrolled in an LCME-accredited medical school.
Mission
The Northwest Arkansas Community Internal Medicine Residency Program’s mission is to train and recruit primary care physicians in the northwest Arkansas Region. To this end, this training program will support the recruitment, education, and retention of physicians of the highest caliber to practice internal medicine in all of its specialties in Northwest Arkansas.
