The Program
The UAMS College of Medicine Northwest Internal Medicine Residency Program is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and was established in 2015 with the first class starting in 2016 as a new fully-accredited community-based program within the Department of Internal Medicine in the UAMS College of Medicine. Our program is the only UAMS residency program under the sponsoring institution of the College of Medicine outside of the main campus in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mission
The UAMS College of Medicine Northwest Internal Medicine Residency Program’s mission is to train high caliber internists dedicated to the principles of scientific inquiry, diagnostic expertise and clinical excellence. In alignment with the mission of UAMS, we are committed to educating future health professionals, providing high-quality, innovative, and family-centered care, and advancing knowledge in the prevention and treatment of human disease. Through diverse clinical experiences, mentorship, and a focus on service to our community, we prepare physicians to excel in the care of patients across Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
