Dr. Jensen is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, in the Department of Surgery, based at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville. She is the course director for the Cardiovascular Module at the College of Medicine, and coordinates research in the departments of Surgery, Radiology, and the UAMS Northwest Regional Program. She received her medical training in her native Finland, where she completed her medical degree and a doctorate in cardiovascular surgery. Her postgraduate surgical training took place in Finland and in Denmark. She completed a post-Doc at one of the largest pediatric cardiac centers in Europe, the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, United Kingdom. She then worked as a Clinical Research Associate at the Emory Structural Heart and Valve Center in Atlanta prior to her relocation to Arkansas. Dr. Jensen also serves as president of the Women’s Faculty Development Caucus on the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus.
