About UAMS
As the state’s only comprehensive medical sciences university, UAMS takes its role in training tomorrow’s physicians and research scientists very seriously. Nearly 80 percent of UAMS’ students remain in Arkansas after graduation, as teachers, as researchers and as medical practitioners. By producing highly trained and motivated medical personnel, the health of Arkansans and future Arkansans is secured with the knowledge that those serving them are among the nation’s top health care professionals. UAMS’ academic programs are responsible for producing skilled specialists in virtually every field of medicine – from nurses to paramedics, from surgeons to pharmacists – and attention is paid to every detail of training in our effort to generate the best and brightest future medical technicians.
Arkansas is faced with a great challenge: training a sufficient number of health care professionals to meet growing demands. In response to this challenge, UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville was established.
