4+2 System

This residency utilizes a 4+2 system to provide well-rounded and comprehensive clinical experiences.

Continuity Clinic (the +2)

  • Five half-days each week in continuity clinic, seeing the resident’s own patients, supervised by attending
  • One half-day every week in dedicated ambulatory didactics which includes: board review, simulation, POCUS, teaching skills curriculum
  • Two half-days each week in a subspecialty clinic
  • Two half-days each week for protected administrative time for research, clinic administrative tasks, personal appointments, etc.

Core Rotation Blocks (the 4)

  • Inpatient wards rotation
  • Continuity of care resident clinic
  • MICU
  • Night float (there are no 24-hr call shifts in this program)
  • Cardiology — inpatient, outpatient, and dedicated time on EP
  • Geriatrics
  • Hospice and palliative care
  • Emergency medicine
  • Neurology
  • Nephrology
  • Infectious Disease
  • Hematology/oncology
  • Gastroenterology

  • Pulmonology
  • Rheumatology
  • Endocrinology
  • Urology
  • Dermatology
  • ENT
