All residents and fellows in ACGME-accredited programs sponsored by UAMS Regional Centers are part of Resident Council. This is a platform for residents/fellows in our sponsoring institution to communicate and exchange information with each other relevant to their programs and their learning and working environment. It also serves as a forum for issues of concern that may be brought to the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC).
Resident Council meets virtually every other month, one week prior to GMEC. The council may invite the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), program directors, or other administrators to participate in meetings on an as-needed basis. Representatives from Resident Council participate in GMEC as voting members and present a summary report of each meeting to GMEC.
