Recurring Meetings

The UAMS Regional Centers Sponsoring Institution requires resident and faculty attendance from all FM programs around the state of Arkansas to attend the Family Medicine Grand Rounds series remotely* via Zoom platform.

All UAMS Regional Centers FM faculty, including rural faculty, are expected to prepare and present at least one “Family Medicine Grand Rounds” in a 3-year interval. Attendance is taken by the administrative staff at the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, and CME credit is awarded for this activity.

Each PGY2 and PGY3 RTRP resident presents an “Adverse Event Analysis” presentation during the year. In addition, each PGY3 RTRP resident is assigned to deliver a “Pick a Topic” (general Family Medicine topic) lecture during the year.

Thursday afternoon workshops and study groups are faculty-led sessions with a grouping of 2-4 similar topics. Resident clinics are closed on these afternoons so residents may attend, and these sessions can be held in the hospital GME space to allow for residents on hospital service to attend when possible.
