Emergency Food Relief
UAMS Northwest’s Office of Community Health and Research, with funding from the Walmart Foundation, is partnering with the Arkansas Community Foundation to support coordinated food insecurity response and relief in Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Washington, Carroll, and Madison counties).
UAMS is working with local community partners to provide no-contact delivery of food boxes to families that are quarantined due to COVID-19. Consent for delivery will need to be given by families requesting food delivery.

NWA Equitable Food Response and Relief to COVID-19
UAMS Northwest Community Health and Research, with funding from the Walmart Foundation, Alice L. Walton Foundation and the Beacon Fund, is partnering with the Arkansas Community Foundation to support coordinated food insecurity response and relief in Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Carroll, Madison, and Washington counties) due to COVID-19 illness, job loss, school closures, and social distancing. In response to these challenges, UAMS is reaching out to community organizations to understand their current needs related to sustaining and growing food outreach programs during this time, providing technical assistance and distributing financial resources where needed.

COVID CARES
In response to the CDC’s recommendations, the Northwest Arkansas Council’s Health Care Transformation Division (Table 1) asked the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Northwest Campus and Community Clinic to lead the collaborative development and implementation of a Northwest Arkansas COVID-19 Comprehensive Response Plan for Special Populations to ensure collaboration and multi-agency coordination of COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, enhanced case management, and health education.
